WhatsApp Founder Jan Koum announced that they will be dropping the $0.99 subscription charge from WhatsApp. Initially WhatsApp was free for 1st year and you had to pay $.99 to use it per year. According to Koum, “We just don’t want people to think at some point their communication to the world will be cut off.”
WhatsApp will now stop charging users the amount and it may take up to 1 week to implement on all versions of the app. In case you have already paid your subscription, then unfortunately you won’t be getting any refunds.
