After acquiring Aviate recently this year, Yahoo has launched a new Android launcher which replaces your home screen into a new one. The launcher is named Aviate Launcher and it is currently available in English only. Aviate launcher simplifies and intelligently organizes your phone, only showing you the apps and information you need on the first place.

On an official blog, Yahoo wrote:

Yahoo Aviate simplifies everything about your phone. It starts with a clean, new layout and apps automatically organized for you. But it’s not just about making your phone simpler – Aviate also makes your phone smarter by offering intelligent information throughout your day. Whether you’re on the go, at work, at a restaurant or just relaxing at home, Aviate automatically shows you apps and information that are useful to you based on what you’re up to.

So from the above statement we can understand that it uses the local information to get us the right data. For example it will fetch the local weather and it will alert us about the current weather. When you wake up in the morning, it will tell you how much you slept and the news for the day. While you are on for your work, it will calculate your commute time and notify you about the traffic conditions. Just plug in your headphone and Aviate will show you the music apps and the artist information, bio’s and upcoming shows of that artist.

So all together, yahoo has done a big jump on the smartphone market. If you are willing to try out this launcher, then the basic component you must have is a Android smartphone with android version 4.0 and above.
