The brand that brought together a metal body, front facing speakers and ultra pixel cameras in a smartphone, HTC has newly launched a new successor to its “One” series: The HTC One (E8). HTC creates a huge sensation in China as it sold more than 50,000 units of HTC One (E8) within just 15 minutes of its launch. This mid-range phone has received a huge interest in the public with 2 million people already reserving the smartphone from an online retailer.
HTC One (E8) has almost same specs as its predecessor HTC One (M8,) except it has a plastic body instead of aluminum and now has a 13 MP rear camera with autofocus and LED flash instead of the duo cam as in M8. It comes with Snapdragon quad core 801 processor running on android 4.4.2 KitKat. It has full 1080p, 5 inch Super LCD3 capacitive touchscreen and comes embedded with HTC Sense 6 UI. Connectivity options include 4G LTE connectivity, Wi-Fi and GPS/GLONASS. It also features dual SIM (nano) and packs 2600mAh battery.
Due to lack of metal construction and Ultra-Pixel duo camera as in HTC’s flagship M8, the price of One E8 has reduced to about half the price of One M8 and other devices in its class like Samsung’s flagship Galaxy S5 and LG’s flagship G3.
It’s official price hasn’t been announced yet but is rumored to be below $500. So, if you are a specs-craving android maniac looking for a mid-range smartphone, the HTC One (E8) might just be for you. Other choices in the mid-range category include LG Nexus 5 and upcoming OnePlus One smartphone.
