How to restrict background apps from using your cellular data on your android phone

We all are aware of data use of our android phones and how the background apps uses so much data that it becomes very hard for us to manage financially on our cellular data costs. We may open the data for only one app but suddenly all of your apps running in the background gets active and eats up your 3G internet. Anyways there is a solution to everything and here are the steps how you can restrict background apps from using your cellular data on your android phone.

STEP 1: Go to settings and select data usage from the menu

 

STEP 2: Select the app to stop running on the background on mobile data
Here you can see the list of apps and press on the app which you wish to restrict to use mobile data.

 

STEP 3: Check Restrict Background data
After selecting the app, check the “Restrict Background data” to make it stop running in the background while you are on your cellular data. There will be some pop-up warning you that it won’t work in the background when you are on your mobile data. Press ok and you are done.

 

Note: The apps where you check the Restrict Background data will work flawlessly when you are on wifi and also these app are restricted only not to run in the background, it will run perfectly when you open the app in the foreground when you are on your mobile data.
